Our Melges fleet is growing strong with a big bump in numbers last summer. the M15 is a two-person dinghy launched by Melges Performance Sailboats in 2020, designed by Reichel/Pugh to bridge junior and adult sailing with its accessible yet high-performance nature, winning Sailing World's Boat of the Year and fostering strong fleets globally, especially in North America and Europe, featuring simple handling, stability, and strong community focus.
The M15 is attractive to a lot of different types of sailors. Designed for youth transitioning to adult sailing, families, and adults seeking family-friendly, competitive one-design racing. We have seen a large interest in families and friends purchasing boats to spend more time together. There has been rapid growth of the fleet in many parts of the US and Europe including Long Island Sound. The fleet is known for fostering camaraderie and attracting diverse sailors, from top college racers to families, with a focus on fun and simple operation.
